Arrivo is looking for talented engineers that can work within our hardware development teams to bring concepts to life that enrich the travel experience. The ideal candidate has a strong background that includes the following skills: idealization, collaborating, prototyping, 3-D modeling, analysis and extensive experience with developing and building hardware. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design and develop hardware products through the entire product lifecycle
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other team members to solve technical challenges
  • Define, design and prototype individual parts, sub-systems and mechanisms
  • Lead efforts to perform trade studies, design, and analysis of mechanisms to enable functionality and autonomy in a novel transportation network
  • Provide hands on support during fabrication, testing and deployment of mechanism designs
  • Develop CAD models of components and assemblies, incorporate dynamic response to develop clearance envelopes for moving assemblies
  • Own and drive specific development and cost trades
  • Perform prototype development, assembly and implementation in support of engineering programs
  • Perform basic financial analysis to evaluate cost impact of design decisions
  • Review cross functional engineering drawings/designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
  • Generate renderings, schematics for installation documents, assembly manuals, patent illustrations, concept presentations, etc.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience

Qualifications:

  • Have a broad reach specific to materials, manufacturing techniques, sensors, data acquisition and other advanced engineering tools and systems
  • 5+ years of engineering experience working in the prototyping environment
  • Proficient in CNC, fabrication, 3D Printing, and working with your hands
  • Experience working with technicians, engineers, fabricators, etc.
  • Expertise building and managing data and tracking systems (ERP, PLM, PDM)
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and the start-up culture
  • Demonstrated aptitude in adopting and mastering new technology and tools
  • Proficient using Catia 3D (NX or Solidworks) to develop 2D drawings and 3D models for vendor, construction, and engineering use
