Arrivo is developing truly 21st century technology to bring fast, safe, low cost, & clean transportation to the world! Arrivo is seeking a highly qualified Senior Chassis Engineer based in our downtown Los Angeles, CA headquarters. Reporting to the Head of Vehicle Engineering, the Senior Chassis Engineer is responsible for the synthesis and development of novel chassis systems for Arrivo vehicles. The successful candidate will have demonstrated technical excellence in the design and development of safety-critical mechanical systems (e.g. mechanisms, linkages, actuators, and supporting components), preferably in a vehicle R&D environment.


  • Establish, develop, and deliver vehicle chassis systems from a clean sheet
  • Set targets for relevant vehicle attributes such as comfort, NVH, and passive safety as well as detailed subsystem and component requirements
  • Create, execute, and maintain CAD models, structural analyses, fastener analyses, elastokinematic analyses, bills of material (BOMs), test plans, and drawings in cooperation with structures, propulsion, levitation, guideway, and vehicle systems engineers
  • Provide hands-on support during fabrication, testing, and deployment of chassis systems, including travel to remote sites for fabrication oversight, testing, and issue resolution
  • Document design criteria, and lead preliminary and critical design reviews for components and subsystems
  • Direct other engineers to accomplish relevant supporting tasks
  • Influence Arrivo’s product lifecycle management (PLM) architecture



  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • M.S. and/or student project team experience strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in mechanical systems in the automotive, aerospace, defense, racing industries, or similar
  • Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6, including kinematic workbench and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of stress/modal/multibody dynamics analysis methodology and software such as Femap/Nastran/Optistruct/ABAQUS or similar and ADAMS/MotionSolve/Dymola or similar
  • Proficiency with design approaches for safety-critical systems, e.g. DFMEA, reliability analysis
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of prototype and mass production materials and processes
  • Familiarity with mechatronics is a must. Mechatronics design/release experience is a plus
  • Proven track record of delivering components and subsystems from concept through development and into production
