Arrivo is seeking a Senior Test Engineer based in our downtown Los Angeles headquarters. This candidate will support our Electric Drive and High Voltage Test Lab towards development and testing of next generation electric traction motor and associated electronics.  Primary areas of responsibility will include leading Testing activities, development and fabrication of system and component level electrical validation properties. The candidate will work with component and system release engineers in a diverse and dynamic environment to jointly define and implement test processes. The candidate will be responsible for test planning, maintaining schedules, and leading teams created to achieve target timelines. We have several openings and will consider multiple applicants with relevant experience.



  • Testing and operating inverter systems, electrical machines and supporting auxiliary test systems and test facility equipment
  • Configuration of data acquisition systems to measure temperature, voltage, current, electrical and mechanical power, speed, torque, vibration, pressure and others
  •   Configuration and execution of manual and automated tests
  • Post processing test data and generating test reports
  • Share and present work to cross-functional teams and executive leadership
  • Must possess outstanding communication skills - written, verbal, non-verbal
  • Must work well in a team environment


  • BS or MS in Engineering ( Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing or validating powertrain/traction electrical systems
  • 5+ years of work experience in a test laboratory environment working with high power systems and/or power electronics/electric machines
  • 5+ years of experience with one the following test and measurement equipment: data acquisition, oscilloscopes, motor controllers or variable frequency drives
  • 5+ years of experience in electric machines, motor drives, motor controls and calibration, motor and inverter cooling systems
  • 5+ years of experience related to testing motor drive systems including: design verification testing, thermal testing, durability testing, and test automation
  • Familiarity with energy control-power lock out, arc flash and high voltage safety training / best practices
  • Knowledge of ISO test equipment calibration requirements / practices and quality standards
  • Knowledge of FMEA methods
